The plan
Surprise proposal photography in Lincoln starts at $250. I'm Macoy Wollenburg. I scout your spot ahead of time and send you a pin so you know exactly where to stand. I stay out of sight with a long lens for the moment, then walk up and shoot a short portrait session while you're both still glowing.
Proposals are new for me this year, and the one below is the first. He asked her at Mahoney State Park in September. I was across the field with a long lens, so the first they knew about me was after she said yes.

Terraced flower beds and low walls to kneel by, with soft light in the evening. Hard to beat.
Open water at sunset and long sight lines, so staying hidden with a long lens is easy.
Brick and string lights, and somewhere to celebrate within a block of where you asked.
Prairie grass and golden-hour light, with quiet corners even on busy weekends.
Wooded trails and the bridge, if you two are more woods than gardens.
The observation tower and river views, about 30 minutes from Lincoln. Worth the drive.

He even suggested timing it around sunset, which made the lighting for the photos incredible.

You propose, the whole moment gets photographed without either of you noticing me, and then I walk up, introduce myself, and shoot a short portrait session right there.

No. I scout the spot ahead of time, position 30 to 50 yards out with a telephoto lens, and look like anyone else at the park. Your partner finds out a photographer exists when I walk up after the yes.

You reschedule, no charge. I'd rather you get the right evening than the one on the calendar, so we pick a backup date up front.
